How do I integrate UPS Live Rates with my store (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.)?
To integrate UPS Live Rates with your online store, such as Shopify or WooCommerce, you need to connect your store to UPS’s shipping API or use a compatible app or plugin that facilitates this connection. Here’s how you can do it for the most common platforms:
**Shopify:**
1. **Use Shopify’s Built-in Carrier Calculated Shipping:**
Shopify supports UPS Live Rates natively for stores on the Shopify, Advanced, or Plus plans.
– Go to your Shopify admin, then Settings > Shipping and delivery.
– Under “Shipping,” click “Manage rates.”
– Add a shipping zone or edit an existing one, then click “Add rate” and select “Use carrier or app to calculate rates.”
– Choose UPS from the list of carriers.
– Enter your UPS account details if prompted.
– Save your settings.
Shopify will now display real-time UPS shipping rates at checkout based on the customer’s address and cart contents.
2. **Use a Third-Party App:**
If you need more advanced features (like negotiated rates, label printing, or multi-origin shipping), use a Shopify app such as “UPS Shipping (Official)” or “ShipperHQ.”
– Install the app from the Shopify App Store.
– Follow the app’s setup instructions to connect your UPS account and configure rate settings.
– The app will display UPS Live Rates at checkout and may offer additional features like label generation and tracking.
**WooCommerce:**
1. **Install a UPS Shipping Plugin:**
WooCommerce does not include UPS Live Rates by default, so you’ll need a plugin such as “WooCommerce UPS Shipping Method” or “Flexible Shipping UPS.”
– Go to your WordPress dashboard, then Plugins > Add New.
– Search for a UPS shipping plugin and install it.
– Activate the plugin and go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.
– Add a new shipping zone or edit an existing one, then add the UPS shipping method.
– Enter your UPS account credentials (API key, username, password, and account number).
– Configure the plugin settings, such as services offered, rate adjustments, and packaging options.
– Save your changes.
Customers will now see real-time UPS rates at checkout.
**General Steps for Other Platforms:**
– Look for a UPS integration or shipping plugin in your platform’s app marketplace.
– Install and activate the plugin or app.
– Enter your UPS account information and configure your shipping preferences.
– Test the checkout process to ensure UPS rates are displaying correctly.
**Note:**
You will need a UPS account to access live rates. Some platforms or plugins may require you to enable carrier-calculated shipping or be on a specific plan. Always check the documentation of your chosen app or plugin for detailed setup instructions.
